How To Develop Communication Books for PPA/PPAOS: Recorded Talk Available!

If you or a loved one has stroke-related aphasia or primary progressive aphasia (PPA), you may have heard of something called a "communication book". Communication books are printed pages, bound together into a book, that contain information relevant to the person with aphasia. They can be used as a backup for days where talking is harder, or they can act as a primary mode of communication.

Earlier this week, I was fortunate to be invited to give a presentation for the National Aphasia Association on this topic as a part of their PPA/PPAOS Educational Series. This series hosts guest speakers on the fourth Tuesday of every month and covers all things related to PPA/PPAOS.

The talk I gave, titled How To Develop Communication Books for PPA/PPAOS, is catered towards people with PPA/PPAOS, their loved ones, and speech-language pathologists who work with individuals with these diagnoses.

I chose this topic because I have had many people with PPA/PPAOS and care partners of people with PPA/PPAOS ask me about this topic, and I wanted to make a robust resource that you can all continue to access in the future.
